2 Year Anniversary

Today Megan and celebrated our 2 year wedding anniversary, and I have to say that it has been the best two years of my life. Even though it’s been full of lots of challenges and struggles that we could never have seen coming, I wouldn’t change it for anything and would have made the same decision in a heartbeat.

I made up this art piece based on a song I wrote for Megan a few weeks ago, just to say I Love You!

Toward the Beautiful

I wrote a guest article for CreationSwap entitled Toward the Beautiful on the metaphysical underpinnings of beauty and how that relates to the role of an artist in the work of creating art. Check it out here.

Gone But Not Forgotten

Acrylic on canvas with some magazine and book cutouts.

The quotes were dug out randomly from a book I’ve never read I found lying on a shelf in our apartment, and I thought they captured a sort of tension between the carefree and the task of grappling with some of the most essential aspects of existence.

Plus, the deer make a nice touch.

Detail and full image below the jump.

Credulous

I created this piece after thinking about the seeming impossibility of flight.

Yes, I realize there is a lot of physics involved which allows this to be a possibility.

Nevertheless, it’s still a little disconcerting to think that I might be riding in a 500 ton aluminum cage that is hurtling through the air at 500 mph (with no way to stop) 35,000 feet above the ground.

Which is why I don’t.

Have fun flying!
